Late on Wednesday, Google released another Chrome browser update in an effort to patch an actively exploited flaw in the browser’s code. The exploit, designated as CVE-2025-5419, enables attackers to read and write data outside the intended boundaries in a computer’s memory. This can cause your browser to crash or allow attackers to run malicious code on your computer. Attackers access the exploit when you visit a website designed for that purpose.

If you haven’t updated Chrome and you visit one of these sites (which can look very real and official), attackers can gain access to your personal information, install harmful software on your system without your knowledge, and even take control of your computer. Although no exact timeline has been provided, Google is pushing the update out automatically, and you should update your browser as soon as it becomes available.
