Trainwreck, Ziam, Brick: What’s New to Watch on Netflix the Week of July 4, 2025

Every week, Netflix drops a bunch of new content for viewers to stream from TV and movie studios all over the world. Watching all of it would take you a ton of time, so I decided to start my Friday by recommending three top picks for the weekend and week to come. Schedule your viewing around these shows and movies, and I’ll be watching along with you. The first full week of July has a passel of content for all kinds of audiences, including a teen party out of control documentary and some cool-looking original films.

Trainwreck: The Real Project X (July 8)

Netflix’s Trainwreck documentary series has been bringing the juice this summer, with hilariously weird deep dives into viral moments. The Real Project X takes us back to 2012, when a Dutch teenager in the small town of Haren posted an invite to her birthday party on Facebook without checking the privacy settings. Thousands of rowdy teens descended on her home, leading to a massive rager that turned into a huge police riot.

  • Director: Alex Wood

  • Genre: Documentary

  • Rating: TV-MA

Ziam (July 9)

Southeast Asian action movies almost always deliver the goods, and everything we’ve seen from Ziam suggests it’s going to be added to the Hall of Fame. This Thai zombie action flick stars Muay Thai fighter Mark-Prin Suparat as he battles a horde of the undead who have overtaken a hospital. Bare-knuckle brawling and vicious bone breaks are the order of the day, and Ziam looks like a perfect summer popcorn flick.

Brick (July 10)

In the Dutch horror film Brick, a couple on the verge of splitting up finds that the door to their apartment has been sealed overnight by a mysterious wall, with no apparent way to escape. Now, they have to work with their neighbors, drilling through the walls and floors to reshape their building and discover what’s happening in the world beyond. It looks like a pretty cool premise that’s executed well.
