T-Mobile’s Satellite Service Is Here and the Beta Is Still Free to Join

Cell phones are everywhere, but they’re limited by coverage. Satellite connectivity is emerging as the next step in communication—and T-Mobile is now offering satellite network access through its T-Satellite with Starlink service, becoming the first U.S. wireless provider to do so. No matter what carrier you’re currently on, you can join the beta and send satellite texts from most smartphones from the last 4 years, at no extra cost.

Be Done With Dead Zones

It may feel like there’s cell service everywhere, but all networks have dead zones somewhere. In fact, there are nearly 500,000 square miles of land in America that have no cell service whatsoever. If you’ve ever dealt with a call drop in the countryside or even just watched your bars disappear on a long drive, you’ve experienced that dead zone space. With over 600 satellites connected to the network, T-Satellite is on a mission to eliminate nearly every one of those zones, and this service is now available for select users.

No More Big Bulky Satellite Phones

Historically, satellite phones have required carrying a large, awkward device and worrying about factors such as orbits and antenna angles. T-Satellite gets rid of those drawbacks and opens up satellite services to nearly every modern smartphone made in the last four years. Whether you use Android or iOS, or even if you’re on Verizon or AT&T, you can probably add satellite service to the device that’s already in your pocket.

It’s Already Available for T-Mobile Members and Beta Testers

If you’re a part of T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond plan, you’ve already got T-Satellite coverage included as a benefit to your service (a $10 per month value). That’s in addition to the unlimited mobile hotspot, the unlimited texting service, and 15 to 30GB of high-speed international data, depending on where you’re currently roaming.

Even if you are on another carrier, T-Satellite beta access is free to try through July. After that, the service will be included on Experience Beyond, while those on Experience More will get free T-Satellite service through the end of the year. All other plans, including AT&T and Verizon, can add satellite service for a limited time at a discounted rate of $10 per month.

Don’t sweat a dropped call or a missed text anywhere you go—if you can see the sky, you’ll stay connected with the power of T-Satellite. Click here to learn more.
