Every week, Netflix drops a bunch of new content for viewers to stream from TV and movie studios all over the world. Watching all of it would take you a ton of time, so I decided to start my Friday by recommending three top picks for the weekend and week to come. Schedule your viewing around these shows and movies, and I’ll be watching along with you. This week, the return of Korean breakthrough hit Squid Game is the big news, along with the end of The Sandman and more. The full list is below.

This Week on Netflix: PCMag’s Picks

Squid Game: Season 3 (June 27)

One of the most-watched shows in Netflix history is coming to an end, and we have no doubt that Squid Game will go out with a bang. The wildly popular Korean drama about a gaggle of misfits and screw-ups competing for money as well as their lives had a surprisingly great second season, with protagonist Gi-hun returning to the Games after four years to try and shut them down, only to be entangled in double-crosses and surprises. The third season picks up right where that one left off.

  • Director: Hwang Dong-hyuk

  • Cast: Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon

  • Genre: Drama

  • Rating: TV-MA

  • IMDb Rating: 8.0/10

Mission: Impossible Movie Series (July 1)

Of all the movies that Tom Cruise has made over his career, he seems to have the most affection for the Mission: Impossible franchise. They let him indulge his penchant for massive budgets, outrageous stunts, and working with an all-star lineup of directors. The first of the month sees the first five films: Mission: Impossible, Mission: Impossible II, Mission: Impossible III, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation all coming to Netflix.

  • Directors: Brian de Palma, John Woo, JJ Abrams, more

  • Cast: Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames

  • Genre: Drama

  • Rating: PG-13

The Sandman: Season 2 (July 3)

Netflix’s adaptation of the landmark 90s fantasy series The Sandman comes to a somewhat sudden end this month after allegations against original writer Neil Gaiman. That’s a shame, as this is a property fans have been wanting to see on the screen for decades. The second and final season roars through the climactic storylines from the comic, as Morpheus abdicates his domain, pursued by the Furies, and a new King of Dreams is selected.
