Scream, The Snake: What’s New to Watch on Disney+, Hulu the Week of June 6, 2025

Whether you subscribe to them individually or as part of a bundle deal, Disney+ and Hulu both have a lot to offer streaming fans. Disney has the ultra-popular Marvel and Star Wars franchises, while Hulu brings the heat with tons of original shows and movies from around the world, coupled with American TV shows from network partners. There’s a lot to watch, with new stuff added every day, so I picked out the three best choices for the first full week of June. The full list of TV shows and movies coming to the streaming services can be found below.

This Week on Hulu and Disney+: PCMag’s Picks

Scream (2022) (June 8/Hulu)

Rebooting a horror franchise is a thankless task that usually fails, but 2022’s resuscitation of meta-horror series Scream hit all the right notes. The movie brings back series staples Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette and introduces a new generation of victims for Ghostface, including Mikey Madison and Jenna Ortega. The action travels back to Woodsboro 25 years later when the slasher resurfaces.

  • Directors: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gilletti

  • Cast: Mikey Madison, Jenna Ortega, Neve Campbell

  • Genre: Horror

  • Rating: R

  • IMDb Rating: 6.3/10

Ocean with David Attenborough (June 8/Disney+)

The OG of nature documentaries is back with a new feature film, this one exploring the rich and mysterious animal life below the surface of the sea. Using cutting-edge camera technology, the film takes us through coral reefs, kelp forests, and other underwater environments, while also wrestling with what human civilization is doing to this fragile but vital biome. If you’re worried about Earth’s future, this will give you both information and hope. Ocean with David Attenborough is also the only new thing coming to Disney+ this week.

The Snake: Season Premiere (June 11/Hulu)

I love a reality TV show with lots of backstabbing, and Fox’s new project The Snake looks like a lot of fun. Fifteen contestants from various walks of life, including an ex-con, a pro poker player, a camgirl and a pastor are competing for $100,000 over a bunch of different challenges. The winner each week becomes the new Snake, who has control over the elimination ceremony. Who will come out on top, and how much trust will they lose on the way?
