If you have been eyeing a Nikon camera, you need to act fast. Due to US tariffs, Nikon products are set to receive price hikes starting June 23.
“At Nikon, we remain committed to providing the highest quality imaging products and value to our customers. Due to the recent tariffs, a necessary price adjustment for products will take effect on June 23, 2025,” the company said in a statement last week. “We will be carefully monitoring any tariff developments and may adjust pricing as necessary to reflect the evolving market conditions.”
In its short statement, Nikon didn’t specify which products will be impacted first or how much the prices will increase. The company said it is “taking every possible step to minimize the impact on our community.”
The announcement came just a week after Nikon mentioned in its earnings call that the high level of uncertainty around tariffs could reduce its operating profits by 10 billion yen (approximately $69.5 million). On April 9, President Trump paused the implementation of reciprocal tariffs for 90 days, though a baseline 10% tariff is still in place for all goods coming into the US.
Nikon’s competitor Canon is also considering a price hike to offset the impact of tariffs. “We will raise prices and are in the process of estimating the timing and amount of the increase,” Canon said during the company’s earnings call last month.
