How to Delete an Instagram Comment on Your Phone

Removing a comment on Instagram is easy to do through the mobile app. You can delete Instagram comments you’ve left as well as comments someone else left on your posts.

1. Locate the comment you want to erase from Instagram.

   If you’re not sure where it is, get a list of all your comments: Tap your profile image, then the three lines > Your activity > Comments.

2. Tap and hold the comment.

3. Select Delete to confirm.

How to Delete an Instagram Comment on a Computer

If you’re using a web browser instead of the Instagram mobile app, you can still delete unwanted comments with just a few clicks.

1. Open the post that includes the comment you want to delete.

2. Hover your cursor over the comment and select the three dots.

3. Select Delete in the pop-up window.

Can You Edit a Comment on Instagram?

Instagram lets you edit some things, like captions, but not comments. A workaround is to replace the comment with a new one.

To ‘edit’ an Instagram comment, delete it following the directions above, and then make a new one in its place.
