Can Your PC Run Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater?

Can Your PC Run Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater?

It’s a great time to be a fan of stealth gaming auteur Hideo Kojima. Not only is the game developer releasing a new project, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but his former employer, Konami, is publishing a gorgeous remake of his beloved Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This new version, entitled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, drops on Aug. 28, so read on to discover if your PC has the minimum system specs to handle the Virtuous Mission.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

It’s been a decade since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the last proper entry in the Metal Gear Solid saga. Snake Eater is an excellent choice for a remake, because it’s the story’s first chapter. As a result, it’s a terrific entry point for newcomers. This prequel sees you control Naked Snake, who becomes the franchise’s villainous Big Boss.

Set in the thick of the Cold War, this 1960s spy thriller tasks you with sneaking through jungles and into Soviet bases to prevent nuclear catastrophe. Metal Gear Solid games are known for their wild plots involving conspiracies, super soldiers, and mechs, but Snake Eater’s relatively straightforward storytelling and emotional character relationships make it a series highlight. So, I can’t wait to see it brought to life through modern, Unreal Engine 5 visuals.

Release Date, Price, and Platforms

The jungle action is a few weeks away. Konami will release Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on Aug. 28, 2025, for $69.99. It’s headed to PC (via Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The Deluxe Edition, which includes the Sneaking DLC Pack with extra costumes and gear, costs $79.99. Will Snake Eater come to Switch 2? It’s not confirmed, but I certainly hope so.

Controller Support, Steam Deck Support, and Other Features

As a remake of a beloved console game, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater unsurprisingly features full gamepad support for DualShock and Xbox controllers. The original Snake Eater landed on many handheld devices, including the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch, but Steam Deck support is currently unknown. Hopefully, the stealth game will be cleared to run on SteamOS before launch.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater also supports many Steam features: Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Steam Family Sharing. Have an HDR-compatible gaming monitor? You’ll be happy to know that the Snake Eater remake supports that tech.
