KPop Demon Hunters, Poop Cruise: What’s New to Watch on Netflix the Week of June 20, 2025

Every week, Netflix drops a bunch of new content for viewers to stream from TV and movie studios all over the world. Watching all of it would take you a ton of time, so I decided to start my Friday by recommending three top picks for the weekend and week to come. Schedule your viewing around these shows and movies, and I’ll be watching along with you. This week, we’ve got a documentary on a nightmarish “poop cruise,” an original animated action movie, teen swimming drama, and more. The full list is below.

This Week on Netflix: PCMag’s Picks

KPop Demon Hunters (June 20)

Korean content has been a reliably popular niche for Netflix, so it’s not surprising to see them double down. New animated movie KPop Demon Hunters follows a trio of singing stars—Rumi, Mira, and Zoey—as they balance their show-stopping careers with tracking down and neutralizing a variety of supernatural beasties. It’s an America-Korea co-production that will no doubt inspire tons of fan art after it debuts this weekend.

Olympo (June 20)

The pressures of elite athletics are the backdrop for new Spanish-language series Olympo, which stars Clara Galle as Amalia, the captain of a high-end youth swimming team at the Pyrenean High Performance Center, who is shocked when a teammate sees sudden performance improvements and then collapses at a practice. Attractive people in swimwear plus twisty-turny drama? That’s a formula that wins.

Trainwreck: Poop Cruise (June 24)

Picture this: you’re heading to Cozumel on a luxurious Carnival cruise ship, packed with entertainment, food, and fun. And then a fire breaks out in the engine room, leaving the ship adrift and vital functions disabled…including the toilets. Trainwreck: Poop Cruise takes us back to 2013 when 4,000 passengers experienced pure chaos on the high seas and the media circus that followed.

  • Director: James Ross

  • Genre: Documentary

  • Rating: TV-MA
