To get to The End and battle the Ender Dragon, you need to use an active End Portal. Here’s how to find and create an End Portal in Minecraft.

How Do You Make an End Portal in Minecraft?

In Creative Mode, you can build an End Portal. Although you can’t craft the frame pieces, you can find them in the inventory screen.

1. Open your inventory and add 12 Eyes of Ender and 12 End Portal Frames to your hotbar.

2. Place the End Portal Frames, making sure there are three blocks on each side.

   Ensure the green marks on the frames face toward the center. Stand in the middle and build the portal around you to ensure correct placement.

3. Stand outside the frame and place an Eye of Ender in each frame block. Once you insert the last Eye of Ender, the portal will activate.

How Do You Find and Activate an End Portal in Minecraft?

Once you find or make an End Portal, you’ll need to activate it. Here’s how to do both:

1. Collect 12 Ender Pearls by defeating Endermen or offering Gold Ingots to Piglins in the Nether. Sometimes, clerics in villages will trade Ender Pearls for Emeralds.

2. Craft 12 Blaze Powders using 6 Blaze Rods. You can make 2 Blaze Powders from each Blaze Rod. To acquire Blaze Rods, defeat Blazes in the Nether.

3. Create a Crafting Table using 4 Wood Planks, place it on the ground, and open it.

4. Craft at least 12 Eyes of Ender. To create an Eye of Ender, put Blaze Powder in the first box of the middle row and place an Ender Pearl in the center of the grid.

   You need up to 12 Eyes to activate the portal, but it’s helpful to craft a few extra for the next step.

5. Equip an Eye of Ender and throw it. It will fly into the sky and then return to the ground. Look up to track where it goes, catch it, and throw it again. Continue until it lands in the same spot repeatedly to locate a stronghold.

   How you throw the Eye of Ender depends on your platform:

   • PC: Right-click
   • Mobile: Tap and hold
   • Xbox: Press LT
   • PlayStation: Press L2

   There’s a chance the Eye will shatter. If this happens, you can make another.

6. Once the Eye consistently falls in the same spot, begin digging to uncover the stronghold.

7. Locate the End Portal by searching for a room containing a staircase, lava, and a monster spawner.

   The Portal is located near the entrance (the winding stairs leading down). If you don’t find it going one way, turn around and try another path.

8. To activate the End Portal, insert Eyes of Ender into the empty frame blocks. Some blocks in the portal’s frame may already contain Eyes.

9. Enter the End Portal to access The End and prepare to battle the Ender Dragon.
